Full Form of GSM

The full form of GSM is the Global System for Mobile communications.It is a standard developed by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) to describe protocols for second generation digital cellular networks (2G). It was a replacement for first-generation (1G) cellular networks. The idea to develop GSM stems from the cell-based mobile radio system at Bell Laboratories in the early 1970s.
